So many people have mailboxes mounted on a metal saguaro that I don't show them on the blog anymore. But I don't think I've seen a prickly pear “post” before!
This is the second of three mailboxes I found when I was near Reid Park on June 5, 2023.
What a delightful find! The prickly pear "post" adds a touch of whimsy to the mundane landscape of mailboxes. It's as if the desert decided to lend its charm to daily mail rituals. Thanks to Jerry Peek for uncovering these unique treasures on his June 5th adventure near Reid Park – a reminder that even the simplest things can carry a hint of magic.
